The repertoire includes Cossack dances and circle dances based on folklore of reach Krasnodar region (the Kuban) where children from Cossack families sing and dance from an early age. The group includes an orchestra of traditional instruments that has its own name “Barynia”. The children play balalaikas, button accordions, zhaleikas (zhaleika is a traditional Russian wind instrument), and various kinds of traditional percussion – clappers, spoons, and tambourines.

The group is mainly formed by students of the school Nan shan shiyan, located in the south-east of China in Shenzhen.
